This volume contains a collection of essay and presents a series of perspectives on contemporary phenomena surrounding co-working culture. Throughout the texts, co-working spaces are analyzed as an indicator of the broader shifts brought about by development in technology, changes in lifestyle, and the rise of the sharing economy.
In recent years, we have witnessed a paradigm shift in the way we live, work and communicate. The spaces occupied by domesticity and work that have been separated since the Industrial Revolution are beginning to reconcile, creating a gray zone. The activities and experiences of daily life have exceeded the structures that contain them, becoming more fluid, interconnected, and seamless than ever before.
During this time of critical evaluation and experimentation, co-working becomes a lens to understand how our present moment may impact the future of our environment.
