ArcDR3 Regenerative Urbanism Studio “Pre-Disaster Recovery Design for Tokyo Metropolitan Earthquake in Koutou-Ward, Tokyo 2020-2050” 2020-2021 Urban ReDesign Studies Unit @ The University of Tokyo

In this studio, with increasing risk of Tokyo metropolitan earthquake under the various assumptions of risks including land liquefaction, storm surge, and COVID-19, we would like to try to draw a new image of urban space as Pre-Disaster Recovery Design for Tokyo. In this studio, we aim to attain proposals based on urban research using various digital data analysis through understanding the methodology of urban design against various hazards, Zoom meetings and referring to keynote lectures featuring the theme of “cities in crisis” from some professors such as TAJIMA Yoshimitsu from coastal engineering, CHIBA Manabu from architecture design, and MIYAGI Shunsaku from landscape design.

This Urban Redesign Studio has been carried out incorporation with the three departments (Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Urban Engineering) since 2014.
